While Poulenc was improvising at the piano one day, the young daughter of his cousin gave him a copy of the story of Babar, the Little Elephant and insisted that he “play this instead!” The result was this magical re-telling of the story in music.The programme will also include a new work written by Iain Farrington himself, and will suit audience members of all ages.
