Maconchy Wind Quintet

The wind quintet repertoire includes a huge range of very skilful transcriptions of mainstream works, and this concert features a newly-arranged suite of music from Hansel and Gretel. The players of the Aristos wind quintet will perform Elizabeth Maconchy’s Quintet to mark the 100th year of the composer’s birth. Charles Bailey, known to local audiences as the young Mozart in Mozart’s Voice in 2006, will narrate the story of Peter and the Wolf in a version which has a pleasantly happy ending!
