The students of Kirkham Henry Performing Arts return with a double bill of much-loved stories. A series of French fairy tales were the inspiration for Ravel’s sequence of miniatures, Ma mère l'oye, originally written for piano duet although later orchestrated and expanded to incorporate the story of The Sleeping Beauty. Mendelssohn’s incidental music for Shakespeare’s magical comedy presents us with fairies, the famous Wedding March and an unforgettable appearance by Bottom, transformed into a donkey.
