1812 Theatre Company presents - Elgar’s Rondo by David Pownall

Directed by Martin Vander Weyer

Set in 1912 and 1918, this beautiful play – first performed by the Royal Shakespeare Company in 1993 – finds Elgar disillusioned with his own work and resentful of his role as England's great patriotic composer.'I'm giving up the music business entirely,' he declares. But memories, friends and admirers – including George Bernard Shaw and King George V – gradually draw him out of his depression.
