Huw Watkins’ works have been performed by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, Manchester Camerata and Nash Ensemble.

As a pianist Watkins has recently made recordings for EMI and Nimbus and he appeared at the 2006 Ryedale Festival, playing a Mozart Piano Concerto in Castle Howard.

Ravel’s virtuosic depiction of fountains (literally ‘water games’), Messiaen’s Un Reflet dans le Vent and Watkins’ own miniature Deep Blue Air will bring the weather into Lastingham!
