Rossini – Petite Messe Solennelle

Rossini composed his Petite Messe Solennelle (which, as has famously been pointed out, is neither ‘little’ nor particularly ‘solemn’!) during the final years of his life. It is a deeply felt work but also full of charm, colour, rhythmic vitality and memorable tunes. The Ampleforth and Ryedale Choir makes its festival debut alongside a quartet of outstanding soloists.
