Ryedale District Council supports the Ryedale Festival.

Jacob George – Violinist

The company Merchant Taylors in the City of York sponsors a very small number of talented young drama and music students, in addition to supporting young fashion and textile designers.  They have recently made a charitable award to Jacob George who attends Joseph Rowntree School, to support his membership of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain in 2012.

Jacob a violinist, who is one of the Ryedale Festival’s Youth Members is becoming well known in a number of circles in York and recently performed The Lark Ascending by Vaughan Williams in a concert at St Helen's Church in York.

The Ryedale Festival congratulates Jacob on his award and wishes him well for the future.
